Job Description: The Utility Technician will support the production, assembly, repair, and testing of full-pressure helmets and related life support equipment. Responsibilities include supporting helmet production from shell lay-up and surface finishing through component integration and final testing, assembling and disassembling high-altitude helmets, performing repairs and overhauls, and conducting pressure retention/leak and static pressure testing. This position will also support visor and sunshade production, use hand and power tools, precision measuring equipment, shop machinery, paint sprayers, and various test equipment, maintain production records and inventory, and work with Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Government Inspectors as needed.
Requirements
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. Candidates should have strong mechanical and technical skills with experience using hand tools, power tools, precision measuring tools, and basic shop equipment. Must be able to read engineering drawings, fabrication and test procedures, precision measuring scales, and analog/digital meters for pressure, flow, temperature, and torque. Strong troubleshooting ability, hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, basic math and computer skills are required. Experience or technical training in military Aircrew Life Support/Flight Equipment, aircraft or automotive body repair, paint spraying, or a related mechanical field is preferred but not required. Must be comfortable working with chemicals, compressed air, machinery, respirators and dust masks, and occasionally lifting more than 20 lbs.
